De Rossi Re, Fabrizio (b. August 1, 1960, Rome).
Italian composer of stage, orchestral, chamber, choral, vocal, piano, and
electroacoustic works that have been performed throughout Europe; he is also
active as a pianist.
Mr. De Rossi Re
graduated in composition at the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Rome, where
he studied with Mauro Bortolotti. He has also attended courses with
Luciano Berio, Sylvano Bussotti and Salvatore
Sciarrino.
His music has been performed at many festivals in the Americas, Asia and Europe by numerous prestigious ensembles, including Alter Ego, the Freon Ensemble, the Grupo Encuentros de Música Contemporánea, the Logos Ensemble, and Ossatura. His works have also been played by the Orchestra dell’Accademia di Santa Cecilia, the Orchestra della Sagra Musicale Umbra, the Orchestra Filarmonica Marchigiana, the Orchestra Matthias Rex (Budapest), the Orchestra Regionale del Lazio, the Orchestra Sinfonica Abruzzese, the Orchestra Sinfonica ICO Tito Schipa (Lecce), and the Orchestra Toscanini (Parma).
Soloists who have performed his music include harpists Claudia Antonelli and Lucia Bova, clarinettists Guido Arbonelli, Paolo Ravaglia and Ciro Scarponi, percussionist Maurizio Ben Omar, and vocalists Sonia Bergamasco, Dagmar Krause, Joan Logue, Jana Mrazova, and Susanna Rigacci. Other soloists include saxophonists Arno Bornkamp, Toni Germani, Massimo Mazzoni, and Federico Mondelci, guitarists Stefano Cardi, Elena Casoli and Maurizio Pisati, flautists Roberto Fabbriciani, Birgit Nolte and Manuel Zurria, and recorder-players Juan Ariel Gonzalo, Antonio Politano and Verena Wuesthoff.
He has been a member of the artistic committee of Nuova Consonanza in Rome since 1987. As a jazz pianist, he often participates in experimental projects of improvisations with many other soloists, the results of which have been recorded.
In addition to the works listed below, he has composed numerous scores for films and theatre productions.
