Gregoretti, Lucio (b. 1961, Rome). Italian composer of mostly stage, orchestral, chamber, and vocal works that have been performed in Europe.
Mr. Gregoretti studied composition with Mauro Bortolotti at the Conservatorio di Musica Santa Cecilia in Rome from 1981-90 and there obtained his diploma. He also studied conducting privately with Giampiero Taverna in Milan from 1983-86 and with Franco Ferrara at the Accademia O. Respighi in Assisi in 1984.
He has received commissions from numerous organizations, including the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, RAI, the Teatro Donizetti in Bergamo, the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, and the Teatro Sociale in Rovigo, as well as from the festivals Cosmophonies, Emergenze, Nuovi Spazi Musicali, Sonora, and Todi Music Fest. His music has been performed in Austria, France, Germany, Italy, and Serbia and Montenegro.
In addition to the works listed below, Mr. Gregoretti has written much incidental music and numerous film scores since 1983, including works for Henryk Baranowski, John Crowther, Marco Mattolini, Gigi Proietti, Claudio Remondi and Riccardo Caporossi, and Lina Wertmüller.
