T he Living Composers Project  

Maierhof, Michael (b. 1956, Fulda). German composer of mostly chamber, vocal and multimedia works that have been performed throughout Europe and elsewhere.

Mr. Maierhof is self-taught as a composer. He studied mathematics and music in Kassel and art history and philosophy in Hamburg and did not begin composing until 1988.

He has earned awards from the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris and his works have been selected by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Neue Musik three times (1998-2000). His music has been heard at Darmstadt twice (1998, 2000) and in Almaty, Berlin, Bruges, Chicago, Donaueschingen, Dresden, Dublin, Eeklo, Eindhoven, Frankfurt, Freiburg, Ghent, Hamburg, Hannover, Kleve, Kyoto, London, Luxembourg, Stuttgart, Taegu, Tübingen, Vienna, and Zürich.

In 2001-02, he was an invited lecturer at both Trinity College in Dublin and the Stuttgarter Musikhochschule.
