THE LIVING COMPOSERS PROJECT  

Lucien Posman

(b. 22 March 1952, Eeklo).

Belgian composer of mostly chamber, choral and vocal works that have been performed throughout Europe.

Mr. Posman studied at the Hogeschool Gent Conservatorium in Ghent and the Koninklijk Vlaams Conservatorium in Antwerp and received first prizes in composition, counterpoint, fugue, harmony, music history, and music theory. He also studied composition and music theory at the Hogeschool Gent Conservatorium.

Among his honours are the Prijs van de Vlaamse Mediatheek in the competition for chamber music of the Muizelhuisconcerten (1988) and the Muizelhuisprijs voor Kamermuziek (1988).

Mr. Posman is also active in other positions. He founded the European Composers Collective – Regio Gent (ECCG) and has served as its director. In addition, he has served as artistic director of chamber music at the venue De Rode Pomp in Ghent and is a member of the editorial board of the music journal Nieuwe Vlaamse Muziekrevue.

He has taught at the Hogeschool Gent Conservatorium.
