THE LIVING COMPOSERS PROJECT  

Bruno Zanolini

(b. 1945, Milan).

Italian composer of orchestral, chamber, choral, vocal, and piano works that have been performed throughout Europe; he is also active as a scholar.

Mr. Zanolini studied at the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi in Milan, where he graduated with a diploma in piano performance in 1970, a diploma in literature from Italy in 1972 and a diploma in composition in 1973.

As a scholar, he has published technical studies on Johannes Brahms, Luigi Dallapiccola and Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, as well as studies on Romantic melodrama and post-Romantic melodrama. He has researched in depth the uses of harmony and contrapuntal techniques in the Renaissance and Baroque, to which he has dedicated two volumes, the first in collaboration with Renato Dionisi (Edizioni Suvini Zerboni).

He has taught as a professor of composition at the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi.

His primary publisher is Edizioni Suvini Zerboni.

In addition to the works listed below, he has arranged numerous folksongs for various choruses.
