TT he Living Composers Project  

Zeqiri, Dafina (b. April 1, 1984, Prishtina). Kosovar composer of mostly chamber and choral works that have been performed in Europe.

Ms. Zeqiri studied at the Prenk Jakova Conservatory in Prishtina from 1997–2002 and has studied composition with Mendi Mengjiqi at the University of Prishtina since 2002, where she is working on her master's degree.

Among her honors are three awards in the Çesk Zadeja competition for young composers in Tiranë (diploma of encouragement, 2002, for Dialogue; Third Prize, 2003, for Sonata for Flute and Piano; Special Prize, 2005, for Variazione per archi) and a diploma as an Eminent Student from the University of Prishtina (2005–06). Her music has been performed in Albania, Denmark, Hungary, Kosovo, Macedonia, and the UK, including six times at the Re Musica festival in Prishtina (2002–07), once at the New Days of Music festival in Tiranë (2006) and twice at the DAM new music festival in Prishtina (2006–07).
